This is the second year which we have collaborated with the Buildings Department in promoting building safety, whilst providing an introduction on architecture to the youngsters. Colleagues from Gravity were once again at their very best taking part in the WWF volunteer programme to maintain the eco-system in Mai Po. Armed with shuffles shovels, buckets, working gloves, sun screen and insect repellent, embankment to the footpath was levelled and Mikania weed were removed. The day was hot and humid making it an immense task for our colleagues, but our effort is vital to ensure safety for the public and to provide an environment that can support a wider variety of wildlife. Enjoying the scenery at the nature reserve as well as having a good work out, definitely a pleasant change from a day spent at the office!
Supporting local talent is part of our belief at Gravity, and such passion extends beyond the realm of design. We are delighted to be the proud sponsor of Chan Yu Ting(陈羽婷) and Fung Tat Choi (冯达才),both experienced sailors who frequent international sailing competition for the Hobbie and now the Nacra 17. The team will embark on a year-long campaign, with qualification races across 2 continents, towards the ultimate goal of competing in the Rio Olympic in 2016, under the newly introduced Nacra 17 class.
Hong Kong enjoys a successful history in Olympic watersport, pioneered by forerunners such as gold medal winner Lee Lai Shan(李丽珊). Inspired by such legacy and the strength of this partnership, Ting and Choi will give it their best in achieving their ultimate dreams.
The 12th Anniversary celebration dinner was held at the pool side of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. With the stunning night view of Victoria Harbor as a backdrop we all enjoyed the openness of the setting and the delicious food. The highlight of the evening was the “best time traveler dress award”, many colleagues squeezed into old school uniform, 60’s shanghai style pajama, mum and dad’s outfit, luminous space suits... It was a day of full of fun and laughter, so looking forward to more in our next anniversary!
