Our project was showcased at the exhibition organized by the HKIA at the RIBA in London. The exhibition presents selected projects recognized by the HKIA Annual Awards in addition to other projects of outstanding architectural significance from 1965 to the present day.
We are honoured that our project Beijiao Cultural Centre in Foshan, is selected amongst other excellent projects to provide visitors with a holistic overview of Hong Kong and its evolution through its architecture.
Under the theme “BOYB – Bring your Own Biennale”, the 2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism is an arena for public involvement, experimentations and reflections. With our Principal Frank Yu as a member of the Hong Kong curating team, Gravity is tasked with transforming the West Kowloon waterfront promenade into a viable exhibition venue, including the main Pavilion, a temporary structure made out of rolls of paper.
Our showcased Projects focuses on the relationship between the building and its social context, it was divided in two parts: Tracing – A look into architecture upon repurposing legacy structure and its relation to cultural memory. Sichuan Intermediate Relieve Housing – A response to the devastating earthquake in Sichuan, proposing an architectural solution to retain the local social fabric.
